On December 30, 2023, Roadie earned his permanent angel wings and crossed over the rainbow bridge.  He was a most loyal fur baby companion, a loving part of our family. Best dog ever. He will be missed so very much.  His adorable face was grayed, but still held its charm, even in old age. The photo below is of Roadie watching it rain, this past September (9/2023). He gave us thirteen and one-half great years of companionship and friendship... 💖

Roadie All Wrapped Up... Brrr, Its Cold Outside!

Happy New Year!  Brrr... Roadie's year is off to a chilly start for 2017. The first snowfall here of the year arrived yesterday, Friday, January 6, 2017.  Roadie woke up to a chilly 11 degrees on Saturday morning and decided it was better to just snuggle down and stay warm.  And maybe mooch for a couple more MilkBones... Still being his loveable, quirky self!

Roadie Is Turning Two!

It has been awhile since I've posted an update for Roadie, so its about time!  He is still doing great, is somewhat spoiled, and he just turned two years old this month (July 2012).  He is very intelligent, and has grown into an affectionate, loyal and playful companion pet for our family.  I am happy that we rescued him on that hot, summer day a couple of years ago. I now know that anyone who discards a healthy "Ridgeless" Rhodesian Ridgeback pup just because it lacks the ridged back is in fact throwing away a chance to have a wonderful pet, and possibly is judging the animal unfairly and inhumanely!  Our Roadie is a great pet!

Leaf Me Alone...

We have had a few nice days this month, which were thoroughly enjoyed by our ridgeless Rhodesian, Roadie.  He had a blast romping in the piles of raked-up leaves. Finally, he settled in and found a good sized stick to chomp on.  He wasn't too happy when I tried to get close with the camera though.

Roadie did get a good report during his appointment with the veterinarian this month, weighing in at 72 pounds!  What a journey he has been on since we first adopted him as a pup last summer, weighing just under 4 pounds!

And Another Snow Day!?!

Happy 2011!  The new year has already brought a new experience for Roadie.  His first snow day...

 Roadie had a blast exploring and bouncing his way around the yard.  Sticking his nose into the snow here and there...  But after an exciting day of exploring in the snow, it was time to come back inside to warm up and wind down for the evening.  Sharing a recliner for a nice, cozy nap is another of Roadie's favorite things to do!

Merry Christmas From Santa Roadie!

Merry Christmas From Roadie's House To Yours!  Woof!

As Christmas draws near, Roadie is discovering the world of Christmas trees, sparkly lights, and that wonderful, crinkly sound of wrapping paper.  Though he is being taught to steer clear of the Christmas tree, he has tossed a toy or two in the air, landing them near the tree.  He wants to go fetch and give the tree a quick sniff or bump, just to be sure he has the chance to explore this new "no-no".  He's been a pretty good sport about most of it, up until the point that the santa hat came out.  He is not fond of the santa hat, doesn't want it being on his head.  He only wants it in his mouth.  To him, it is just another bright red, slightly fuzzy chew toy!  We did manage to get him to sit still long enough to snap this photo - meet Santa Roadie!  Best wishes to all our fur-critter friends for a very Merry Christmas!
